The Creators Circle

A week in Henningsvær for people who tell stories about travel, nature, and the outdoors. From February 14–20, 2027, the lodge becomes a shared studio: a place to make new work, compare approaches, trade honest feedback, and learn from creators whose medium or audience may look different from your own, but exists within the travel/nature/photography/lifestyle sphere.

Who it’s for

Travel and content creators, nature photographers, videographers, filmmakers, writers, and mixed-media storytellers are all welcome to apply. The strongest fit is someone with real experience making and sharing work, a pull toward mountain and outdoor life, and a generous approach to exchanging ideas with the group.

How the circle works

Like every Arctic Coliving Theme Week, this one is participant-led rather than a fixed workshop. Bring a skill, process, question, or half-finished idea to share. Anyone can invite the group into a session; every activity is optional, and there is room to follow the light, work alone, or take a slower day. The week might include:

• Small-group shoots around Henningsvær, shaped by weather and light
• Peer portfolio, edit, and rough-cut reviews
• Practical exchanges on shooting, filming, writing, editing, and publishing workflows
• Open conversations about collaborations, pitches, partnerships, and building an audience without losing your point of view
• Shared meals, sauna evenings, and time to let new collaborations take shape

Lofoten as your studio

February brings the sun back to Lofoten. Low Arctic light moves across steep mountains, fishing villages, beaches, and open sea; clear nights can bring the northern lights. Weather changes quickly, so plans stay loose. Head out when conditions line up, or use a grey day to edit, write, record, and learn from the room.

What to bring

Bring the tools you already know and enough of your process to let other people see how you work. A useful kit might include:

• The camera, phone, audio, or video setup you actually create with—and the accessories it needs
• Your laptop or editing setup, chargers, adapters, storage, and a reliable backup plan
• A portfolio, work in progress, rough cut, pitch, or creative question you are ready to discuss
• Warm, weatherproof layers and footwear for short winter shoots around Lofoten
• Travel insurance that covers your equipment and any outdoor activities you plan to join

Experience and responsibility

This is a community stay, not a guided production, formal workshop, or sponsored press trip. There are no fixed briefs or required deliverables. Each creator remains responsible for their equipment, travel, outdoor decisions, permissions, releases, and the people and places they choose to photograph or film. Arrange qualified local support separately when an activity or location calls for it.

Back at the lodge

Return to the Lofoten Pier Lodge to warm up in the sauna, cook together, review selects and rough cuts, and talk through the choices behind the finished work. The point is not only what you make in Lofoten, but the ideas, honest feedback, and future collaborators you leave with.

Join by application

Applications help us build a small, generous group across different media and experience levels. Share your profiles or portfolio, tell us what you make, and describe what you would like to learn and contribute during the week. When booking, sign up and choose your dates like a regular booking, and please share a link to your socials or portfolio as well as notes on your creative goals. There is no minimum follower count. We expect the average participant to have an audience of roughly 25,000–100,000 followers, but selection is based on the work itself, the perspective you bring, and your willingness to contribute, not a number beside your profile.

Theme Weeks are Arctic Coliving stays with a focus. Each run gathers a small group around one craft, be it photography, backcountry touring, knitting, whatever the season calls for. Days focused on your passion together with your peers. The best part? Visiting during a Theme Week costs the same as a normal stay, with some weeks offering additional experiences or programming through our friends and paid directly to them – no cost markup from us.
